A Message from Pastor Mark Wood

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year!

As I sit to write this letter, I am struck by an overwhelming awareness of the blessing of God’s faithfulness and provision for our school. Throughout the history of Golden Hills Christian School, the Lord has continually lead, directed, provided and blessed us beyond our own limited expectations. Part of our worship is to remember His faithfulness in times past. This is true of our own personal lives, our families, our church and certainly our school. It is in this connection with the past, we remember the great and mighty provision of God, and we can boldly stand and faithfully trust Him for our future. Frankly, I get a little excited to think and dream of the possibilities.

This looking ahead to the possibilities is the basis for our planning and preparation for the coming year. It is obvious that we do not, at this point in time, know fully how God will move and provide for the coming year, but here are some things we are trusting Him for:

  • Through our fundraising efforts we will continue to improve and elevate the academic emphasis of our school as well as provide our students with an increased exposure to the arts.
  • As our school grows, and time progresses, some staff will transition out of GHCS and new staff will be added. We trust that the Lord directs just the right new teachers and support staff to our school for this coming school year.
  • That the school, along with the church, will develop a plan for expansion that will meet our short-term goals as well as prepare for long-term future facility needs.
  • Simply continue to be true to our calling of providing a quality Christ-centered education in our community.

Although this list appears short, behind each one is a vast amount of planning, preparation, and prayer. In fact, we cannot do or accomplish anything without God’s help and intervention. Would you join me in praying for God’s direction and provision for this coming year?

Thank you for being such a vital part of what God is doing in and through our school family. We count it an honor it be part of the history God is writing for you and your family and I am glad you are a part of ours. May the Lord bless you this coming year as we together boldly trust Him.
